Why a conversation first
The most expensive visa most couples will ever apply for
The application charge for a partner visa is $11,710, set on the day you lodge and not refunded if the application fails. Processing takes one to three years. The decision rests almost entirely on evidence of your relationship, and the evidence that matters is the evidence you start keeping now. Whether you lodge in Australia or from overseas, whether you marry first or apply as de facto, whether the sponsor has a history that needs addressing: each of those changes the application, the waiting time and sometimes the outcome. Thirty minutes with someone who has seen hundreds of these settles them.
What it covers
What we cover in thirty minutes
- Which visa: onshore (820 and 801), offshore (309 and 100) or Prospective Marriage (300), and why one fits your situation better than the others.
- Where to lodge and when: your location at lodgement decides the subclass, the bridging visa and your work rights while you wait.
- Your relationship evidence: what you already have across the four areas the Department assesses (financial, household, social, commitment), what is missing, and how to build it.
- The sponsor: eligibility, limits on sponsoring, character checks, and anything in the sponsor’s history that has to be dealt with up front.
- De facto couples: the twelve-month rule, registered relationships, and the exceptions.
- Costs and timing: the charge, the additional applicant charges for children, health and police checks, and the current processing times.
- Your next step: if you are ready, a fixed-fee proposal for us to prepare and lodge the whole application; if you are not, what to do in the meantime.

About us
Who you will be speaking to
Bravo Migration was founded in Sydney in 2008 and is still run by the people who founded it. Our co-founder Erica Carneiro has been a Registered Migration Agent since 2005, among the longest continuously registered agents practising in Australia. Our agents are registered with the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority and bound by its Code of Conduct, and some of them assess the Capstone examination that every new agent must pass. Since July 2026 we have also been the official migration services partner of IDP Australia.
The book is written in the first person, in plain English, because that is how Erica explains the law to clients. Where she gives an opinion rather than a rule, the book says so.

FAQ
We are both overseas. Can we still book?
Yes. The consultation is by phone or video and the offshore partner visa (309 and 100) is lodged from outside Australia.
Do you review our documents on the call?
No. We tell you what the Department will want and whether what you describe is likely to satisfy it. Document review is part of the Application Service.
What if we are not ready to apply?
Most couples are not, on the first call. You leave with the evidence list and the timing, and you come back when you are.
Can you tell us whether we will be approved?
No one can, and you should be wary of anyone who says they can. We can tell you what the requirements are and how your situation measures against them.
Is the fee refundable?
If you cancel more than 24 hours before the call, yes. Inside 24 hours we reschedule once at no charge.
