NSW 190 visa changes for 2021 and 2022
Starting with some good news, a lot of popular occupations have been added back to the NSW List of Target Sectors, such as Café and Restaurant Manager, Photographer, Graphic Designer, IT Support Technician, Librarian, Journalist, Architect and Interior Designer.
The not-so-good news is that NSW will continue to select candidates before they are able to apply for State Nomination, instead of allowing potential applicants to send their applications for consideration. So you can’t apply for State Nomination unless NSW chooses you.
And to apply for a Subclass 190 visa, you need to be nominated by a State or Territory.
NSW has been allocated 4,000 places for the 190 visa for the whole financial year, so they will certainly choose only the brightest and the best.
Important: you will only be considered if you are currently living in NSW and either:
- employed in your occupation, in NSW for at least 1 year at a “skilled” level or
- if you are not employed in your occupation you must have been been living in NSW continuously for the past 3 months
Also important: you must be under 45, have a positive skills assessment and score at least 65 in the points test.
If you see your occupation below, and believe you meet the requirements above, please contact us for an Assessment.
